RLM RPA Volunteerism Initiative: Giving Back to the Community

The Robert L. Medeiros Resiliency Preparatory Academy (RLM RPA) is proud to continue expanding its Volunteerism Initiative—an effort that connects students with meaningful opportunities to give back, build relationships, and make a positive impact throughout the Fall River community.

Since 2023, RPA students have been actively engaged in service projects that support local families, strengthen community partnerships, and promote personal growth through service.

Our Mission

Through volunteering, RPA students develop leadership, empathy, and a strong sense of community. Each opportunity is designed to build confidence, foster connection, and reinforce the importance of helping others.

Community Partnerships

RPA proudly collaborates with a growing network of community organizations, including:

  • Christ The Rock Church
  • First Congregational Church
  • North Main Street YMCA
  • United Neighbors of Fall River
  • Fall River Food Pantry
  • Thrive for Humanity
  • The Home Project
  • River Falls Senior Living
  • The Jewish Home

Helping in Our Community

Lasagna Love

One of the most impactful initiatives takes place in partnership with First Congregational Church.

RPA students recently participated in a Lasagna Love volunteer event, where they worked together to prepare homemade lasagnas for families in the Fall River community, including members of the RPA school community.

This hands-on experience not only provided meals for those in need but also gave students the opportunity to collaborate, learn new skills, and experience the joy of giving back.

Warm Coats, Warm Hearts 2026

Throughout the Winter of 2026, student volunteers from Resiliency Preparatory Academy assisted with the annual Warm Coats Warm Hearts Coat Drive, sponsored by United Way of Greater Fall River, Inc. Once a week, the RLM RPA volunteers sorted through the donations.

Thanks to RPA's partnership with their neighbors at First Congregational Church, students are afforded other similar opportunities to give back.
